Send A Postcard: Show Your Support for Conservation & Outdoor Recreation

Submit a photo and your postcard will be sent to let PA legislators know you care about conservation and outdoor recreation!

Pennsylvania has a strong history of state investments for conservation and outdoor recreation—and no state funding program has had a more tangible, lasting impact than the Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund. Created in 1993 with overwhelming bipartisan and popular support, the Keystone Fund invests each and every year in local conservation and recreation projects, improvements at State Parks and Forests, library renovations, and historical preservation—$1.76 billion over three decades.

But we can’t take these state investments for granted. Every legislative session brings efforts to redirect revenue dedicated to the Keystone Fund. Any such move harms on-the-ground, Keystone-supported projects—including habitat and historic preservation; land acquisition for new parks, preserves, and trails; and improvements to existing outdoor recreation.

Your voice matters. Legislators face seemingly endless demands. They are unlikely to prioritize parks, wildlife conservation, and the protection of special places if constituents don’t tell them such things are important. To keep the Keystone Fund and other state investments in conservation and outdoor recreation strong, legislators need to hear from the people who use and enjoy Pennsylvania’s open spaces and natural areas—you! A personal message from someone living in their district can seriously influence their actions.

WeConservePA and the Growing Greener Coalition have made it easy for you to express your support for conservation and outdoor recreation by sending a customizable postcard. Simply visit conservationadvocate.org/postcard and upload a photo of yourself, your family, or friends enjoying a favorite park, trail, or other PA natural area. Select a brief message for the front and personalize a note of support for the back. Your postcard will then be printed and mailed to your legislators.

Take action and send a postcard! It’s a great way to highlight the impact of the Keystone Fund and other state investments that provide outdoor recreational opportunity, conserve land, and make our communities healthier and happier.
