Pennsylvania has a strong legacy of state investments for conservation and outdoor recreation, driven by the following funds established by the General Assembly:

  • Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund
  • Environmental Stewardship Fund
  • Agricultural Conservation Easement Purchase Fund

These funds are critical to open space, clean water, healthy wildlife, and access to quality outdoor recreation. Together, they provide tens of millions each year for grant programs that deliver immediate, tangible, long-lasting benefits to communities across Pennsylvania.

But that funding isn’t guaranteed. If legislators do not hear from people who care, they are less likely to defend these funding sources when needed. Send a message to your legislators and urge their strong support for state investments in parks, trails, water, wildlife, farmland, and open space preservation.
