Through the years, Pennsylvania has built a conservation legacy that provides clean water, wildlife, recreational opportunity, food security, and many other benefits. Crucial to this success has been decades of financial support from dedicated funds established by the General Assembly:

  • Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund
  • Environmental Stewardship Fund
  • Agricultural Conservation Easement Purchase Fund
These funds—which receive dedicated portions of taxes and fees collected for real estate transfers, landfill waste disposal, and cigarette purchases, respectfully—provide tens of millions each year in state investments that deliver immediate, tangible, long-lasting benefits to communities across Pennsylvania.

But that funding isn’t guaranteed. If legislators do not hear from people who care, they are less likely to defend these funding sources when needed. Send a message to your PA legislators and urge their strong support for state investments in parks, trails, water, wildlife, farmland, and open space preservation.
